Re: OLD Super Orders 2.0 (See v3.0 thread instead)

Good Morning Guys,

i installed the Super Orders Module and have a small problem. Everything works as supposed to except when I update the status of a product, and select Notify Customer, it gives me a Red X and the customer hasn't been notified by email.

I already reinstalled everything, but it still hasn't changed. It used to work when i had everything installed on my Zen-Cart version 1.36. I have version 1.38a now.

Any ideas what could be the problem?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Best Regards,

Re: OLD Super Orders 2.0 (See v3.0 thread instead)

I just noticed sort of the same thing on my fresh install of Super Orders on a site I still have in developement StuntsMovie. Except since I was doing it with a Test order to myself I can see from my mailbox that the email was actually sent and delivered. However the Red X would certainly give a person the impression it wasn't sent when it was.

On another subject, and I have a feeling I'm missing something here, I can't see where in SO it shows the actual shipping method chosen for the order. In my test cart USPS is the only option, but they can choose from Parcel Post, Priority Mail or Express Mail. In SO it shows United States Postal Service as the shipping method just fine, but I don't see where it tells me if someone wanted Parcel Post, Priority or Express service.

Am I simply missing it somewhere? If not, is there a way to get this bit of info in the mix of the Details page somewhere as a reference?

I had the same problem, but there is a fix that was mentioned previously in the post that I integrated, and it worked for me. These are the instructions:

I have now made a further correction so that it now updates the customer notification change the lines from 353 to 356 in the super_batch_status.php file in admin from

if ( ($check_status->fields['orders_status'] != $status) || zen_not_null($comments)) {
update_status($oID, $status, $notify, $comments);

if ($notify == 1) email_latest_status($oID);

to the following code

if ( ($check_status->fields['orders_status'] != $status) || zen_not_null($comments)) {
$customer_notified = '0';
if (isset($_POST['notify']) && ($_POST['notify'] == 'on')) {
$customer_notified = '1';
}

update_status($oID, $status, $customer_notified, $comments);

if ($customer_notified == '1') {
email_latest_status($oID);
}

I hope this does the trick with everyone who has had trouble with not being able to send emails in the batch status.

Again, not sure if that will work for you, but it did the trick for me!

Re: OLD Super Orders 2.0 (See v3.0 thread instead)

Ixnay my question regarding shipping detail not showing up in SO. I found the answer, or actually a couple of them back on page 78 of this thread. That should do the job. Dunno if I was searching wrong, not holding my mouth just right or if the forum search is just a bit lacking like most of them are.

I do still have the Red X issue if anybody can point me to that one. I wasn't using any batch processes. And the mail gets sent. The indicator is just the opposite of what it should be for me.

I'm off to scan through some more pages to see if I can spot a fix for that one!

You were right. Just checked and the updates were sent.

@lyricwings: I tried the code changes as well, but unfortunately they didn't work for me.

Thanks a lot guys. You are the Best!

Re: OLD Super Orders 2.0 (See v3.0 thread instead)

Hi,

I'm installing Super Order for the first time (and hoping to see what all it can do -- is there a feature list anywhere?), but although I've copied all the files and change the DB (with one error -- see below) I don't think it's installed completely.

I can see the so_ tables in my db and there is a Super Orders button in the Admin > Configuration menu. But that's it. I don't see the Admin > Customers > Super Orders menu that is mentioned in the docs.

What could be wrong?

Background: I installed QBI mod over a ZC 1.3.8 update, then UPS XML Auto Export, and then Super Orders. Does the order of installation matter?

The error I mentioned above was that the final line of the SQL file didn't execute the first time I ran the script. So I ran that final line separately. (I wanted to undo and redo the SQL changes by rerunning the script, but didn't see a script to remove the SO changes and so I get errors when trying.)

Thanks!
Tim

PS Also, does Super Orders have support for back orders? Is there a page somewhere that lists all this mod's features?

Re: OLD Super Orders 2.0 (See v3.0 thread instead)

Super Orders only appears to support one kind of back order: where one or more items in the order are out of stock. Then you can use the 'edit products' link and split the order to create a new order for the back ordered items. If you are using a credit card gateway or PayPal you want to have it set to "authorize" only so that you can adjust the amount of money captured for the items shipped and then capture the balance when you ship the back ordered items.

If you need to back order a **partial quantity **(e.g. they ordered 10 but you only have 4 in stock) or you need to substitute one item for another, Super Orders won't do this. In theory the Edit Orders mod would let you do this but from my experience it does NOT work together with Super Orders. It also does not handle products with attributes properly. You can use the "Encrypted Password" mod to log in 'as the customer' and create a new order, but processing the charges gets a little trickier.

hope this helps :cool:

Thanks, Maury. I appreciate the information. I don't imagine that splitting orders will be necessary very often, but that's great information to have!
Best,
Tim

To the best of my experience Super Orders has NO connection to your credit card processing gateway or PayPal. It gets all it's information from your SQL database. If the card processing module stores information returned from the gateway (like PayPal IPN) then you will have it, but SO does not initiate transactions changes.

What I do is set my card processing gateway, and also PayPal, to do AUTHORIZE, not capture of the funds. That way the amount the customer agreed to pay is held in a queue. When I ship, I go to the gateway and move the transaction from the queue to the batch to capture the funds. That way I can make corrections in the amount for back ordered items, etc. Each payment processor has different rules, but VISA says you must ship within 24 hours after capturing the funds. I think PayPal allows you to increase the charges to 115% of the original authorization. But the short answer is you have to process the payments separate from Super Orders.

Re: OLD Super Orders 2.0 (See v3.0 thread instead)

Hi.

I have just installed this contribution on a new site and I am impressed.

I have one problem. Here in the UK, if you are not registered for VAT (our equivalent of Purchase Tax) you are not allowed to make any reference to it on your paperwork. Even having a reference to VAT 0% will have the wrath of the Inland Revenue descending on you!!

So, could anyone advise me on removing all references to take on the catalog side?

Many thanks in anticipation of your help.

Philip

Phil you need to go to modules then order total, then remove the tax part, you will also need to turn off the taxes parts in configuration - my store

Status update. ZC 1.3.8a
I think super orders may be involved in the problem. When I enter an update, change the status on an order and then click notify customer, the message is added and the status is changed, but the notify customer has a red X and the email is not sent. Has anyone elese experienced this and have a fix?

Thanks.

The super_stylesheet.css was designed to incorporate new CSS definitions that were not available int eh standard CSS. I still use Zen's stock stylesheet for a lot of things throughout the contrib.

Yes it definitely does, you just need to create the necessary language file and match my defines. What error are you seeing exactly? Your description kind of confused me.

Maury is absolutely right, coolboy, Super Orders does nothing with actual gateways. The infrastructure is not there in the admin (yet) to adequately support admin-side payment processing. These are simply for your records, however they DO look at your payment tables at checkout to gather the necessary information.

UPDATE FOR ALL
Latest version is pretty much boxed up and ready to ship, with the exception of one very important piece, the installer. I'm not going to do a simple SQL file again this time, because so many of the install issues were based around users having to run the file more than once for various reasons. But I can't half-arse it either; we all know that would be an even bigger disaster. So it's all about finding the time to get it done and into your hands. Sucks, I know. Sit tight!
