Display all categories+products on one page

We are looking for this mod, but cannot find this anywhere, we really appreciate if anyone can help us to point out the source code..

After we show all products in one page, how we can divide them by their original subcats? We will need to create divider perhaps like subcat heading as divider in between all products inside the parent category.

This will works like a divider so the page still shows sub-cats title.

I worked this out with someone a while back (few months). It was a printer ink supply catalog... have to search a bit to locate it.

Try this: Separate Product Listing by Category.
It also has a link to another thread where this type of code was worked on. If it isn't directly applicable to your situation, let me know and we can work it out.

I think your solutions might not directly applicable in yellow's contributions, since yellow use simple category tree module to show all products (even under sub-cats) in main category page, while you solutions I think applied in product listing page?

Anyhow I'm not sure whether your solutions can be applied in yellow's contrib, I tried to look your code but I do not know how to apply in simple category tree mod.

By the way here I attach the mod from yellow so you can check it out if you dont have it yet.

The precise code will obviously not be transferable from the ZC stock file to yellow1912's version, but the approach may be applicable. I'll look at it and see what I can come up with.

In meantime I look at the code and I saw '$divider' in 'config.simple_categories_tree.php' file, is this something related to what we need?

I needed a solution, to display all or several random products related to a category, when you click on it's name, even if they belong to subcats inside the main cat.

I downloaded Yellow's MOD, which is nice, but it is missing one important thing. He took out the subcategory sorting option. It has a dropdown for alphabetical list, but the subcat list has disappeared from the top of the page. had somebody made a fix for that?

What i would like, is a page what lists the subcats on the top (as it was originally) and underneath all the products belonging to the main cat, with paging. I searched a lot of topics here, but no propel solution.

Any suggestions?

If you're using yellow1912's "all_sub_cats_products" add-on, and want to add sub-category links at the top of the page, I may have the solution for you. I've managed to modify the add-on to do this on my store.

See the attached zip for the patches and instructions to make this work. Please note that this is a very "hackish" mod by me - I have not tried this on a fresh install, and cannot guarantee that it will work for you. So be sure to make backups of all relevant files!

This modification requires code changes as well as replacing a file, so be sure to follow the instructions in readme.txt.

To yellow1912: you've been very helpful, so if the attached code works, feel free to make it into an actual update to your add-on, if you wish. :smile:

milkyway - hmmm... I'm afraid what you're asking for would require a completely different approach programming-wise (and by the way, from what I see on the example website, it would only work well on a website that has very few sub-categories and items per category)

My own skills are pretty much limited to patching existing code... so I'm afraid I couldn't help much with this. Perhaps you could try the Commercial Help section on the forums.

TO milkyway: when i was searching all over the forum and the addons part for this mod, i saw somenthing similar you are searching for. Keep looking, because sometimes MOD downloads are posted deep inside the forums and barely visible.

You will have to write your own or customize it. Since it wont work for sites with so many items that cant be listed on a single page.

Thank you very much for the module and the modification, I am using it and it works well, but I need a bit more from the mod. I have sub sub categories in my subcategory and the module displays products only from subcategories. What modifications have to be done to make the mod display products from the sub sub categories ?
