litepockets:
So I've added a little flare to the sub-cats at the top of the listing pages that I think some might enjoy. Let me know if you do and I'll bundle up a mod after a few improvements.
What is it: It's a tabular display of subcats on category pages. IMHO it's a cleaner look than the table layout, and much easier to manipulate. I've changed it into an unordered list so you can use whatever tabs, styles, etc that you want.
What it is not: It's not a product filter, it uses the same subcat display and engine that yellow built. Though I do wish I could locate yellow's filter, I've never been able to find it
Anyhow, go ahead and check it out, let me know if it's worth it to bundle it up and upload it. It modifies no core files either :)

Hello,
I would also like to use this mod, and I am trying to get my site like the one in the above quoted post. On the main page, all products are not shown, and when you click on a category, products are displayed, and I do like the tabs that litepockets has added.
I am using ZC 1.51, with the Lancaster Lux template by picaflor. I am also currently using the 'column' display as opposed to 'rows'. I don't know if that makes much of a difference or not, but have no problem going back to 'rows' if I can get the desired results, even though it appears that the site I have listed as an example is using columns.
After going through this thread and trying the various versions, I am able to have all products listed on the main (front) page, which I don't want, and when I click on a category, there is no change(still just see all of the subcat links..
I am not trying this on a live site, trying to get it working on my demo first. It also seems that litepockets has not been active on this site for almost a year, nor does it appear that he was able to submit his code for the tabs before exiting, and neither has McCrockett been active, who seems to have been the last one to update the code.
I have several categories and subcats, and I would really like it if my customers did not have to click and drill down so far to see items in the categories.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
Thank You,
Sharon
